Summary | 0002092: Odd Enemy Ship Counts
Description | I'm a bit late in reporting a couple things, I was just going through my screenshots directory and seeing what I had left over. Here we see a blob of enemy units with a selection box indicating that there are 209 ships. But wait, what's that in the upper left? "1 Enemy ships at this planet." One? Only one? I see 209.

Without a save, there's not anything I can do... |

Attached a save. Scouts in Voldgin. Upper left lists 96 units. Mouse-over select lists 56(15). 56 + 15 = 71, not 96. Not quite as an egregious example that I originally saw, but still incorrect. |

I'm not at a computer at the moment -- but are you sure it isnt cloaked ships? You can check the counts of those on the galaxy map intel summary. I'd be really surprised if those didn't add up. Though, if the overall count was too low (rather than too high), that would probably have been a cold storage issue. |
Which has since been fixed, come to think of it. |
Good catch, the AI does have space planes. However, even including the "cloaked ships" count (26) from the galaxy map I don't get the right number. (It also jumps up slightly after loading to be 75 + 15 + 31 != 119) Also, if I have to do another game without cloaked units, I will. |
The counts on the galaxy map are of "dangerous" ships, in code-terms, I'm not sure what the upper-left on the planet view is using, my guess is just a count of all units. |
The "There are 119 ships at this planet" counter up near where you get reinforce counts and wave warnings. |
I note that the game is paused. I find very often that as I wander the world paused, it keeps planet-specific notifications for the planet I was looking at before I paused. |
Possible. I'll explore that tomorrow (too late tonight; just got home from running some D&D). Though I'm pretty sure I paused to take the screenshot, rather than seeing the issue while paused. |
