Summary0001191: grav turret health
DescriptionSo, given the recent scaling of turrets into incredibly large death-stations, grav turrets seem to have 'only' 200k health now. While sure, this isnt insignificant, it pales in comparison to the 'other' inhibitor turret - the tractor beam.

Thus, I think they should have something like 2 million hp.

Not sure we should do very much here, since the grav turrets are (iirc) the only form of attacker-inhibiting device against which there is no immunity whatsoever.

The counter is simple: shoot the grav turrets.

If they get much beefier that could get a little unreasonable, given the kinds of redudant grids that can be deployed.

do speed boosters not help grav turret'd ships?

however, shooting them is a perfectly valid response, its not like the old days where certain mk tractor beams could literally outrange bombers, for instance.

its also an imperfect defense, it buys you nothing but time, as units can easily waltz right outside their range.

Mostly though, id say at least similar to tractor beam health, they neednt be as tough as i suggested :p

well, the correct numbers, on normal, are

100k grav turret hp, 1.2k armor

400k tractor hp, 2.4k armor

Grav turrets affect infinite ships tho. You only need one online to get the benefit against every attacker. OTOH the AI can simply destroy a few tractors and continue on its merry way. Or simply outnumber the tractor turrets.
