Summary0009707: counter dark matter turrets may need rebalance or miniforts
Descriptionnot sure if intended or oversighted. the miniforts actually cost equivalent to counter dark matter and give better bonuses and no true unit cap. so most places i would use a counter dark matter i have no reason besides energy to not use a minifort. may need to reduce or eliminate counter dark matter k cost to see them used and remove this huge reason for purchasing miniforts as a first every time. not that i want to nerf a new and much beloved unit but i thought i should mention that counter dark matter turrets basically got the shaft in the patch.

I'm tempted to just give the counter-sniper turret counter-dark matter as well.

With astro-trains being such a non-issue these days, the counter-dark matter is kind of useless really.

I think a couple ships use it, but only like 3.

Dark matter is mostly found on stuff like booster ships that have no meaningful attack anyway. Even when ATs are on their threat amounts to making you look at command stations that aren't actually in danger (and I think that got fixed already).

counter units should switch to the minifort model of 1 per system. the sniper and dark matter should be made available at start (0 k cost)so they have a use. this would delay the must haveness of the minifort. by being 1 per system would add the choice of what to protect when planning defenses which is much more stategic than the current 1 here 1 there to make an immune system that happens now.

and kdr the main use of counter dark matter to to prevent astotrain warning all ove the place sice they are the main dark matter user. only other important one of note is mirror ships.

I hadn't intended for miniforts to have counter-dark-matter, they just inherited it from forts. They won't have it in 5.091, thanks for the report :)
