Summary | 0004804: Devourer Golem - threat level
Description | In the current version, the Devourer Golem is assigned a threat level of 90000 under firepower, regardless of its location in the galaxy. With a high threshold, it makes it harder to check at a glance if this would cause problems. I recommend the following: * The golem only contributes to Threat if it's in a player-controlled or border system (i.e. it displays a message at the top-left). * When it does contribute, try to tweak its firepower value as much less (e.g. 100 instead of 90000). Even though it can instantly kill everything in its path, it's avoidable. This change stops the "threat" from being constantly pulsing just because of that single golem.

Agree with the first one, only sort of agree with the second one. I'm guessing that the normal firepower determination algorithm is being used to computer the Devourer's firepower, and as such, it is correctly warning you how pants-wettingly powerful that thing is. However, I do think that certain unit types need a sort of "firepower multiplier adjustment" property for some ship types, as firepower currently does not take into effect targeting restrictions and whatnot. |
