The higher levels of house give a happiness bonus, not a morale bonus. And you may not notice the happiness bonus if there's nearby evil overlords, etc. You can get an explanation of the calculation of a given NPC's morale or happiness by opening up the NPC Detail Window for them (right-clicking their portrait in the strategy/settlement-management interface) and mousing over the happiness or morale numbers. |
