I do like the idea of being able to be a bat when within the boss rooms. I wouldn't want to change that. I would, however, be open to the idea of form-specific spells, or else a reduction in spell-power or casting speed. I'm thinking we could turn into a bat during boss fights to place a high-up platform network, and then turn back into a human to fire spells at the boss below. But of course this particular tactic wouldn't help much against the bats or amoebas. For those bosses, a hardier, stronger form that maybe cannot jump and is slow would be better. |

I'm not keen at all on form-specific spells, just because then you really get into a lot of complexity for the interface and trying to explain that to the player as well as on and on. But not allowing offensive spells, for instance, might be an interesting thing for the bat. I'd need to give a lot more bat scrolls in that event, of course. Or just really downing the attack power to something like 1/20th or so might do it. But that just encourages some folks to fire 20x more spells. ;) |

hey, at least they have to pay for the spells. I like the incoming damage increase and spell power reduction - don't know about 20x :). In some situations I've used human form's fast falling to advantage, so bat isn't _strictly_ better. |

One could make it so that specific spells cannot work if one is a bat (thought this is just an inverse of the form-specific spells) to allow only the less damaging things or spells that force a player to place their embatted (Yes, I made the word up!) character in harm's way, such as ice cross or other close-range spells that encourage one to use the bat's mobility to avoid taking damage. |

Would favor weaker stats while in bat form, definitely think being able to fight as a bat is cool. Certainly not 20x; a little damage increase goes a long way. |

I think making all spells cost more and be less effective while in bat form is a good plan. I'm on the fence about making the bat form easier to hurt, but the extra mobility should definitely come with a cost. |

* Transmogrify into bat rebalance: ** Player bats are now resistant to cold damage, but still not heat damage. ** Player bats previously were supposedly taking more damage from enemies, but that wasn't ever fully implemented (looks like I got distracted before finishing that). All mention of that has now been removed, as I don't think it would have been fun anyway. ** Player bats now only have 5% as much magical attack strength as normal, however. *** This applies not just to their base magical attack value, but actually the attack power of the spells they use, too (those two components are generally added together). |

I still deal quite a sizable amount of damage as a bat. Pressing ESC tells me that I've got six magic attack, so that part is at least reduced, but I don't think spell power is reduced as it should. |

Doing a quick test on level 28 rhinos gives me that I do 2167 damage with my tier 6 ball lightning (which has 2160 power). Seems to fit with my theory above, unless I misunderstood how the damage is dealt (and discounting a single extra damage). |
