| Description | When I jump I can place a platform mid-air, *but* when I do a double jump using Ride the Lightning I no longer can place platforms mid-jump. | ||||

Double-jumping adds a three-second logistical cooldown, which means you can't place platforms (or sip magic potions, or a number of other things) for three seconds after the double-jump. |
