Summary | 0004060: Can't aim spells
Description | Just downloaded AWWW for Mac, applied the first patch right away. I can't seem to aim spells like fireball or energy burst --- they almost always go up at about a 45-degree angle from the direction my character is facing, but sometimes they'll go nearly straight down. I can't see a pattern for when that happens. I also don't know for sure how this is supposed to work, but I assume the spells are intended to go in the direction of the cursor; it seems like moving my cursor around the screen while firing spells has no effect. Anyway, for the time being I'm in great shape as long as my enemies come at me down a long staircase.

Okay, so I've figured out something more specific about the problem --- it seems to be that the game is reading the cursor's location way above where it appears to me, in fact about a full screen-height too high. I don't know why, but I've noticed that when I try to place a wood platform, it often doesn't seem to appear -- but then when I manage to get up a bit, I find a pile of them all in about the same place, which must be the ones I was trying to place below. This problem seems to come and go --- if I keep trying to place a platform, it turns up eventually, maybe one in five. Spells seem to be a bit better now, tho; maybe work two times in three. |

I'm getting this problem, too. It mainly seems to occur while I'm running after I haven't moved the mouse for a few seconds. Almost like the cursor moves to a default position after a few seconds of inactivity. This is on Mac OS X Lion, btw. I haven't seen the problem on Windows 7 x64. |

Yeah, this is something specific to the mac. I'm going to see what I can do about it. |

* Put in a change to hopefully circumvent an odd bug in Unity OSX where if you hit a keyboard key when the trackpad isn't actively moving, the Y coordinates of the mouse would mysteriously flip negative. This only manifests in the compiled version of AVWW, not in the unity editor, which is why we never saw this until now. ** This seems to fix all of the OSX mouse-related bugs, but please let us know if you see anything else with it. |
