Summary | 0003948: Auto-health potion usage: Use the best potion which heals up to your max HP
Description | Currently auto-potion usage seems to either use the lowest potion or the first one in the toolbar (might be the way my Health I and IIs are lined up). If it's gonna auto-use the potion or scroll, I believe it should use the best one that isn't overkill. For example, if you have 2000 HP, and the potions/scrolls you have heal 1000, 1800, 2200 and 2700 (whatever), I suggest the auto-heal should use the 2200, or in the alternative, the 1800. Since the cooldown is a long time (at least in a boss battle!), using the lowest one would be bad (and is actually bad). This gets even worse if I picked up a Health 1 just running around for a few seconds but otherwise just had Health 10s (or whatever, I haven't really seen those) and I'm Civ Level 50.

I'm going to set this as a feature suggestion/discussion because I know that at the moment, this is functioning as intended. Maybe lets open this up for some discussion and see what others think. |
Can you describe how it is functioning as intended? In other words, what is the intended function - so I can properly plan for how auto-potions are used? |
As it currently stands, it's going to use the lowest tier stuff you have first. First potions, then scrolls. |
Okay then, thanks. I respectfully request you mark this urgent this and change it to use the highest tier of either a potion OR scroll - whichever is higher (if you don't want to use my "best" mechanic). There's no way I'd ever want auto-healing to use my lowest tier potion. That's a recipe for auto-heal death, IMO, especially as you get to high tiers but might still have tier 1 stuff lying around your inventory. (I'm a hoarder.) |
How about an option for this? |
Well, as I said, at the moment, this is as intended, so I can't really mark it urgent. I have it open for further discussion, and if others feel as you do, we'll look further into it. The auto potion popping feature isn't meant to sustain you indefinitely, it's purpose is to keep you alive if you forget to pop on at the last minute. Ideally, you should be popping them yourself. This is also why the cooldown time is shorter if you pop it yourself. |
It just makes no sense to use the lowest one. If you need auto-heal it's because you've forgotten or something really unexpected happened (or you just rely on it, or you don't care, or you didn't notice...). It just forces you to do super annoying inventory management (dropping low ones on the ground all the time) all the time. I still think this is urgent. Anyone who agrees please click "STRONG SUPPORT" below and then "Declare your stance!" |

A grave is dug up *check* i'm to lazy to manage my inventory *check* woops "enter an occasion for death ", another guest for my hotel by the graveyard. In my eyes the death is every where in this land. sure it sounds nice that the failsafe potion/scroll will save my back by 100%. in the other hand i understand why it is how it is and i like it, because it's the ultima ration . so Ultima Ratio,... maybe it's possible that the potion which one will be used is random[From your potion /scroll pool], that would make it more natural in the situation where you are, if you need it. ( i hope you guys understand that sentence ) Edit: god i dug up a half rotten discussion, i don't even know if it implemented in some way already (smalltalk it's time for bed ) |
