Description | It would be helpful for underground gem veins, granite outcroppings and the like to have some sort of glow or sparkle to set them apart from their surroundings. On several occasions I've run right past them because I'm focusing on other things, and then had to backtrack after noticing them on the mini-map. Currently there's no on-screen indication they're important until you become accustomed to what they look like. | ||||

The gem veins already have a glow, really, and there's not much more I could think to do with them -- as for the other kinds of outcrops, they are meant to be fairly subtle as they are all over the place. I'm really not wanting them to be standing out in a flashy game-like sort of way, to be honest. |

Not just gems, but all loot drops. |

I'm not really planning to do it for the veins themselves, honestly -- just for the literal drops. The dust and raw gems that you can pick up. |

* Gem veins, quartz outcrops, and the like now all draw in the foreground, so that the player and enemies walk behind them and so that they are never hidden behind mushrooms or whatever else. ** Gem veins in particular now also emit a low-level light source, making them even more obvious. * Dropped items (gem dust, etc) now have a bit of a sparkle to them to make them easier to see. |
