Summary | 0003803: Add command to tell a fleet to gather at a point before proceeding
Description | Most common use case I see is for traveling through wormholes; I typically want the whole blob to jump through together, and for now that involves flying them to the wormhole, waiting and watching for them to get there, and then issuing the jump order. If they're already grouped, I can get away with a group-move to do it (but not a G-X or G-V), but more often than not they're scattered around some. There are plenty of other tactical cases of this that arise as well. So, easiest way I see to implement this capability would be to add a 'Gather' command, where it would treat the order as a move for every ship in the fleet until they all reached their destination, then would proceed to the next order (if any) in the queue. This would be very cool for issuing complex orders (e.g. you take out that spec ops base, you guys chase the sentinel frigs, everyone else work on that force field, and when everything's done meet back here and V-jump through and kill anything in sight.) On that note, I would suggest being able to issue orders involving other systems, but I am positive that's been considered and not implemented for a good reason (legitimate reasons include "huge pain in the ass"). I still hope it's on the roadmap though.
