Description | Now that the antimatter starship (formerly the siege starship) got the HP buff, now the bomber starship has less HP, even though they are the "close up" fighter ship. It just seems odd. The bomber starship line does have noticeably superior armor, and isn't that far behind in HP, so the bomber starship line may overall still be the more durable of the two. However, it still seems like the bomber starship line should be significantly more durable, not slightly more as it is now. | ||||

Sounds like the bomber star-ship, when attacking a Radar dampened unit at least, is basically as poorly off as an anti-matter star-ship, aside from move speed. |

@Ranakastrasz Except that bomber star ships have low range in general. Radar dampening is usually not the limiting issue for them, but rather their naturally poor range. They do get the advantage of being able to hit things that the antimatter starship cannot, like forcefields, fortresses, and command stations. |

just a thought with the really hideously poor range on bomber starships has there been any thought of giving them radar damping so they can survive to range? i know this would be contrary to play survival when the ai pulls it out against forcefields and command stations. this however would force units into an engagement range to kill it and since its a priority target right behind raid starships would allow it to force units out of position and strike telling blows. currently i find that they are too flimsy and outclassed by any other more numerous attack option for the firepower. their only real use seems to be killing fortresses and i would think they should be slightly more vital than that |

@TechSY730 True, I should have said the siege star-ship has the same issues as the bomber star-ship vs radar dampened targets. And yep, there are quite a few differences in that respect. @motai I agree that giving them radar dampening would make them more durable as an effect. Also giving them bonuses like bombers gain would help as well. |
