Summary0003494: Paralyzing tweaks
DescriptionIn a few of the threads I have been reading, Such Whether or not Zenith Paralyzers are underpowered, Someone suggested that they would have a chance of paralyzing, which another person (A mod I think) Replied that they didn't want to add any chance elements back into the game for game mechanics (this naturally excludes the AI fuzzy logic) However, I immediately though that it would be rather straightforward to give ships a paralysis resistance, which would be a real number that is multiplied by the paralysis duration being applied, so that some ships could be resistant to paralysis, such as star-ships or guardposts (rather than having to be plain out immune or 100% vulnerable) so that a large number of Zenith Paralyzers would be necessary to stun-lock a starship.

Changed the classification to something that seems more appropriate, and split the unit suggestions to separate posts.

Actually, % based stats could be applied to a lot of other things, such as radar dampening (damage is reduced by 80% when more than 10k range distant) (high energy radar, reduces radar dampening effect by 25% (25% of the 80%, not 80-25) -> 60% reduced damage)

Yea, it seems that most of the "all or nothing" mechanics could be replaced by a value, with a "value of resistance" to that mechanic to counter it. Yes, this is MUCH more difficult to balance, but makes many mechanics FAR less annoying to deal with, and leads to far less "silly" situations.
