DescriptionI am still rather new here, so please forgive me if this is a dumb suggestion.

I was thinking of the way that I used Enclave Starships to keep my fleet production at the front lines and how I use warpgates to get all of my ship production to the front and prepare for an assault.

What if we were to make a starship that would function as a warpgate without cloaking that could travel through wormholes? I figure the MK I equivalent could warp in fleetships and the MK II equivalent could warp in starships. I think these could be balanced by having high knowledge costs (10,000?), but balance decisions are for the dev team to make.

No worries on being new -- we appreciate suggestions.

In this particular case, the logistical advantage of this sort of thing would make it one of those "must unlock" technologies that would just act like a 10k knowledge tax for advanced players, while removing any incentive for them to ever build beachheads.

There was a lot of discussion of balance around intra-galactic warp gates back when I introduced those, and the current immobile-plus-other-restrictions design is about as permissive as it's likely to get. Our goal with those was to improve logistics while in your systems, or onto beachheads of AI systems, to reduce pointless micromanagement and waiting, while at the same time NOT improving logistics in hostile territory, or the ability to quickly move large groups of ships from point A to point B in your empire to respond to threats (which would make the need for adequate defenses vastly reduced, since a single fleet could be everywhere at once). In this case, your suggestion runs afoul of the first thing, in that it improves logistics in enemy territory in a way that would be OP at an advanced level.
