|Summary||0025195: Friendly dyson generating AIP by killing reconquest warp gates|
|Description||Noticed that the friendly Dyson Sphere units would occasionally ding me for 5 AIP by killing warp gates. It didn't happen very often, even though there were lots of systems that I'd neutered that the Sphere had access to. |
I finally figured out it was only happening in reconquered systems. I've got enemy-to-all marauders on, and they would sometimes clear out a system, and I'd go clear them out, and then sometime later the dyson would kill the warp gate and cost me 5 AIP.
It did correctly detect that it would then only cost me 15 AIP to colonize the system instead of 20.
Minor factions were changed to not kill warp gates in 6.022.

The Dyson is allowed to free itself after its home command station has been destroyed the first time. This can sometimes cause a bit of extra AIP generation.
Worth noting that if you have some other hostile faction willing to free the Dyson for you then this you could otherwise get allied dyson without paying the usual AIP price for it. I think that having dyson allies for 5 AIP is reasonable.
||I reported this more as a consistency issue than a balance issue. The Dyson is killing warp gates outside of its own system, but only reconquest ones. To be consistent, it should either kill all warp gates or no warp gates. I am assuming that the reconquest warp gates are actually a slightly different unit under the hood, and whatever logic prevents Dysons from killing warp gates, it's either only checking regular warp gates and not reconquest gates, or it's explicitly allowing them to kill reconquest gates and it should be explicitly allowing them to kill only reconquest warp gates that don't generate AIP.|
