Summary0024192: AI Strength "?" Error
DescriptionPreviously, whenever I have an uncrippled (note: functioning) unit on a planet, I would be able to tell the exact enemy strength there is on a planet. Crippled flagships correctly do not let me watch a planet. The game currently tells me whether I am watching a planet or not, and planets that I am not watching correctly show a "?" after the strength number. Even though I can still determine the enemy strength on a watched planet, sometimes the "?" after the S## doesn't go away. The "?" only goes away if I restart the game or if the strength value changes. It is sort of irritating to see the "?" there even though I have recently visited the planet or am currently watching the planet. I have attached screenshots of this annoyance.

I'm not sure if the DebugLog has anything relevant to this, but I'll just have it here just in case.

"Previously, whenever I have an uncrippled unit on a planet, I would be able to tell the exact enemy strength there is on a planet" This was a bug/exploit that was removed deliberately.

Edit: I think I misread your writeup. My bad!

I also note that the Tech numbers sometimes don't update when jumping from one game to the next without exiting out of the game, particularly Subterfuge and Melee.

A crippled flagship should not give me updated information, yes. A combat sentry frigate or combat engineer or a raider? I would think they would give me updated information.

With a logistical command station, the neighboring planets show a "?" after the strength #. Maybe it's just me.

It seems the "?" goes away if there is a change to the strength number. For example, if there were threat or hunter fleet detected on a planet and not merely sentinels.

I have attached a save file to tinker with along with the debug log. I'm not sure if they reveal anything about the "?" appearing (or disappearing) after the strength numbers.

The question mark next to the strength icon goes away after an update to the strength of enemy factions (in this case, the AI). The question marks should not be there if I am currently watching the planet though.

Thanks!

* Fixed some bugs with how the allied vision setting was implemented that was preventing you from seeing a lot of intel in general on the galaxy map, or leaving it pretty stale in general.
** The biggest thing was that it was often causing a planet you had ships at to flip back and forth rapidly between "watched" and "explored" status, thus making the intel counts often have a question mark behind them or fail to show up entirely.
