| Description | After some discussing on discord, player "zxc" came up with an idea to easily make the swap ship line UI more usable and less convoluted. His idea is to select a ship line (i.e.: a V-Wing), then select the fleet where to send it, with the difference that in the list, only the empty slots from the other fleets appear, because in mid-late game that list becomes inconvenient to use due to the large numbers of ships shown. The drawback is that the player loses the possibility to directly swap two ship lines, and needs to do this operation twice. It should be anyway faster than searching through dozens of ship lines for what you really want. For comparison, right now is like in the first image, the solution is in the second image. On top of this, I made a small mockup (check pdf) to show another more complex solution to list all fleets and ship lines, that should feel less convoluted and easier to use. In short, each fleet becomes a button that, when it's pressed, expands and lists all the ship lines contained in the inside, indented a bit on the right, so it's easier to search and select the free slots or another ship to swap. The third idea is to have on the top the possibility to select what you want ship type to display and / or in which order to display them: by type, by name, by number. Hope I was clear enough. Well, the option to add this is certainly simple enough, at least, which is a good thing! I will look into that soon. |
