Summary0009877: Strike Bomber
DescriptionStrike Bombers are low cap ships that specialize in hurting superweapons. They have a very slow reload combined with a lower cap DPS than most ships but move quickly and automatically perform hit and run attacks to minimize return fire.

When SBs pick a target they constantly accelerate towards that target. The higher their speed is the less damage they take per attack (this simulates evasion). When near the target they fire a burst and race past it, slowing down to turn around at a significant distance and going for the next attack run. They should pace themselves to be in range shortly after their reload finishes. The peak velocity should be significantly higher than the movement speed of most ships but unlike normal movement they don't get to perform the zero-speed-loss turns.

They are least susceptible to enemy fire when near their target (at peak speed) while being the most vulnerable when they turn around. Stopping strike bombers without a unit screen placed in front of their target should require a lot of raw force. They should not be too common or dealing with them would become tedious.

The goal of strike bombers is to encourage sending fleets with your superweapons even if they would not ordinarily need them or to split your fleet blob up.
