Description | Basically in boss rooms, you start out in the right-hand corner. For some slices and bosses, if you have a mage class that has a homing attack, you can just sit in the corner you spawned in and spam your homing attack to whittle down the boss without the boss reacting. In fact, this causes the boss to fly up to the upper right-hand corner, still vulnerable to homing attacks. The boss attacks having higher priority than the homing attack doesn't make any difference, some will still slip through. Even stranger, sitting in the corner when the boss is up at the ceiling corner will put you out of range for the boss' attacks, but not your homing attack. I wasn't sure what category to put this under, because it seems like multiple bugs (like the boss flying to the ceiling corner), as well as a gameplay imbalance/issue. My suggested fix would be to have the boss AI attempt to punish the player for hiding in the corner for too long, maybe have the AI charge recklessly at the player? Another way to fix it would be to make it easier to get out of that corner without hurting yourself. See the spikes in the attached image. Joining that corner that's just sticking out there with the rest of the room should help too. | ||||

Yes, I complained to something similar in the forums, the thing is, it does work like you describe even *without* homing attack, you just need to be able to hit from where you are standing. I was told that this is because the henchmen AI is alpha stage still, so I expect that this area will have a lot of improvements soon. |

With the new boss room designs, this shouldn't be an issue any more. Let me know if I'm wrong. |
