Summary | 0009540: Rebelling Colony Taking damage in controlled system.
Description | In my current game the Rebelling Colony I have in Dadark was destroyed before the station. The only time it has invulnerability is when it is on the 2 hour invulnerability countdown. I had to blow up my own station to save the colony. At any rate I went back and made a save during the attack where the Rebelling Colony was taking damage that you can take a look at. At any rate Dadark is basically a center right system about 3 systems down from the top.

Pretty sure that is by design. Its supposed to be invulnerable for two hours to give you a chance to capture it.. at which point you are supposed to defend it. |
The last line on the Rebelling Human Colony says: "While you hold the planet on which they are located, their invisibility cloak will remain at full power." In other words if this is now by design they need to remove that line. Also why would they suddenly be able to cloak again as soon as you lose control of the sector? At any rate there is a problem with the way it works, or with the text and either way it needs to be fixed. |
Oh.. Well then, theyre supposed to be invisible. Its been a while since I had those on. (last time I did, it decided to happen on a dyson planet. really fun) |
No problem. It's hard to remember the text for every little thing. To be honest I checked the text myself before posting this because like you I thought this may be by design. After reading the whole text and seeing that it was supposed to be invisible I decided to post it. |

This is not a bug. There is no AoE immunity on the rebel colony; cloaking only means cannot be directly targeted. The intent is that you are not supposed to be able to completely ignore the colony once you capture it. In practice, it means that building the CS near the colony is a bad idea. The colony is also not immune to tachyons. (your save happened to have enemy AoE units attacking the CS) |
Perhaps it _should_ have AoE and tachyon immunity? (and/or just have more than 600k HP) |
For some reason I just thought that Rebelling Colony's were indestructible so long as their cloak was up. I kind of like the idea of the tachyon immunity. As for the AoE immunity I now know that I should not put command stations, or anything else really, next to those colony's so the AoE shouldn't really be an issue. |
