Summary | 0027755: Auto-pausing game by default when going into sub-menus.
Description | There is a new "AutoPauseGameWhenOpeningMenus" setting, which currently does nothing. When this is off, it should work as it does now, no changes. When this is on, which is the default, it should automatically pause the game if the game is not already paused when any window that blurs the background is shown, or certain other windows like the dispatch screen (which does not blur the background, but still should auto-pause). At the time of pausing, if it was unpaused it should remember that. And then when this same window is closed, if the game is paused, it should go back to being unpaused. If the player manually unpaused when they were in this window, then of course there's nothing to do. And if the player was paused already when entering this screen, it should not unpause, is the big one! ---------------------------------------------- Original title: Question to testers: should we be auto-pausing the game at various points? Original notes: I'm thinking here like when you open the dispatch screen, and possibly other subscreens as well. Should it be any subscreen? That might be a bit annoying if you are wanting to look at info while things work away in the background. But realistically, there is probably always something worth doing.

I would think dispatch and research especially would be nice for auto pause. Or at least, it pauses by default, but the player can still unpause while in the subscreens. |
|
I can see it both ways, and both options will result in some players wanting to pause/unpause while doing whatever. I suggest either not having it auto-pause, or having a single setting that toggles whether it does or not, applying to *all* subscreens. |

In my opinion a default blanket setting for pause on popup would be appreciated.... as long as the ability to hit space and pause/unpause isn't restricted while you're in the popup. |
