Summary | 0010327: New perk types: condition and non-damage spell modifiers
Description | As it is perk selection is a little limited and honestly kind of dull. It boils down to health or trying to maximize damage, with the movement options being secondary concerns. I propose some new types of perks that impact spells in interesting (and potentially amusinfly game changing ways) Some of these idea might require additional increases to cooldown or reductions to damage as balance points. It would need play testing. I've a list of ideas below. Caliber increase: self explanatory. Increases a spell caliber Freeze shot: when this perk is picked the corresponding spell (eg a primary spell freeze perk) slows the enemy's movement and/or attack speed for a limited time. Possibly completely freezing it briefly Poison/incindery shot: adds a damage over type component to a spell. A larger increase than if you used a straight damage perk. Weaken: when a perk that gives weaken to a spell is equipped, said spells will afflict hit enemies with reduced damage for a limited period of time

Some examples that might clarify Secondary spell incindery 1 perk: gives your secondary spell 75% (number arbitrary) dealt over 5 seconds. Special spell weaken 1 perk: A successful hit with the equipped spell causes weakness 1 for 5 seconds, causing an X reduction in damage. Etc These wouldn't necessarily need to be restricted to perks either. I can imagine annoying enemies that don't deal damage but instead cause freeze/weakness etc. |

Another one I thought of is one that extends the range of the projectile |
|
Increasing both range and size of projectiles would be cool. Not sure if particle effects would allow that though. If so both would be cool as well! |
|
I kinda like this idea. Maybe keep things as simple as possible, though. Caliber boosts or projectile range boosts sound fine. |
