Description | Currently the way spell calibers work is very binary, and while interesting I think we could add more nuance that would help distinguish the variety of straight shot spells that are more or less reskinned clones of each other. To that effect I propose two new types of spells - attributes that could be given to some of the existing spells. Most spells would operate as they already do, but these types would be rare exceptions. 1. Spirit ( or ghost/astral/spectre/void/whatever) shots. These are spells that pass through enemy shots, and enemy shots pass through them. They might could use lowered damage to balance them. The idea is they can pierce heavy fire but add the risk of no defensive benefits, you have to dodge attacks or use a seperate attack to block. This should be a rare attack type. 2. Buffered (or whatever really) shot. These spell types have a higher caliber than normal attacks, but they will never pierce through enemy shots. In other words high caliber (not as high as touch spells though) but they are lost on hitting enemy attacks. They could be used as defensive shots to block high caliber enemy spells that you otherwise are defenseless against, opening the door for a buffered shot/ regular shot combo. | ||||
