Description | In the north edge of this screen, one of the arrows leading here points at deep water. The first time I walked south onto this screen, I plunged into the water and did not respawn. I had to use the poison pill to resume play. I tried reproducing this error, but every other time, I respawned to the left or right of the water. | ||||

Just an FYI, I'm going through and editing various marsh screens, including this one, to never have "the player's nose or feet touching an obstacle right as he or she arrives on a screen." Just a game design law I've always followed, as it reminds the player that they can't see right in front of them, one screen over. So to test this one, you would have to temporarily set up this situation with deep water again. |

An FYI to the FYI, lol... I'm keeping a few of those "in your face" moments, for cases where the player already knew it would happen because they've been to that screen before, and at the first or last of a group of arrows, which the player would not usually be traversing anyway. =) |

I'm glad you don't get an email for every note... Last thought -- I'm removing all those instances which involve deep water, just to be safe. |

I think you've handled this with your level design shifts -- but basically the rule is this: if a player has never stood on a tile that was "safe" since they've gone into the level, they will get stranded in the manner you describe. Levels need to be designed such that they always enter in a manner that is safe, and then after that they can fall into water and such as much as they want. ;) |
